User card can be disabled for a certain period of time and then enabled again. This could be done, for instance, during the employee in question leave. The following actions might be available depending on the parameters of card usage policy:

  • Smart cards disabling and enabling
  • Smart cards disabling only
  • Smart cards enabling only

Disabling and enabling of a card is performed without connecting the card to a workstation.

To disabling a smart card, proceed as follows:

1. Click Temporary disable card.

2. Confirm the action by clicking Disable button.
3. Click Close after the card is deactivated.
4. The card status is changed from Issued to Disabled.

When a card is disabled, all or some of the certificates stored on it might be revoked. Certificate revocation upon disabling of a card is configured by Indeed CM administrator.

To enabling a smart card, proceed as follows:

1. Click Enable card.

2. Confirm the action by clicking Enable button.
3. Click Close after the card is activated.
4. The card status is changed from Disabled to Issued.
