Upon the first login to Self Service application, the user might be offered to perform the following operations:

  • Set the security questions (if the user already has smart card issued by administrator).

  • Issue a smart card on his or her own (if there are no cards issued and issuance is allowed by administrator).

If the smart card usage policy allows to select certificates during card issuance, the list of certificates would be shown in card issuance dialogue window.

The card might be initialized while issued, if the corresponding option is enabled in smart card usage policy. 

Smart card issuance upon the first login to Self Service. Smart card issuance by user is allowed by the policy, mandatory card initialization is enabled.

Specify Administrator PIN codes (if the smart card is not added to Indeed CM) and User PIN codes (available if initialization is disabled) in Advanced section. User and administrator PIN code values might be empty. In this case, they are set as per value specified in Configuration – Card types section. To issue the device, click Issue.

If the smart card usage policy allows for generation of random PIN code and its display upon card issuance, then after the card issuance process is finished, the user can see his or her PIN code.

The PIN code can also be sent to user or his or her manager email address, if the corresponding notifications are defined in the smart card usage policy.

If the system settings allow for smart card contents display in Self Service, then the Contents tab becomes available in the card properties. This tab contains data about the certificates stored on the card.

A user can print out the data of a certificate and/or certificate request. Printing is performed by clicking the  button.
