Upon the first login to Self-Service application, the user might be offered to perform the following operations:

  • Set answers to security questions (available the first time you log into Self-Service before the smart card issuance).

The need for answers to secret questions and the number of questions when issuing a smart card is set by the Indeed CM administrator in the smart card usage policy in the Workflow and Authentication sections.

  • Issue a smart card on his or her own (if there are no cards issued and issuance is allowed by administrator).

If the smart card usage policy allows to select certificates during card issuance, the list of certificates would be shown in card issuance dialogue window.

The card might be initialized while issued, if the corresponding option is enabled in smart card usage policy.

Smart card issuance upon the first login to Self-Service. Smart card issuance by user is allowed by the policy, mandatory card initialization is enabled.

Specify Administrator PIN (if the smart card is not added to Indeed CM) and User PIN (available if initialization is disabled) in Advanced section. User and administrator PIN values might be empty. In this case, they are set as per value specified in Card types section. To issue the smart card, click Issue.

If the smart card usage policy allows for generation of random PIN and its display upon card issuance, then after the card issuance process is finished, the user can see his or her PIN.

The PIN can also be sent to user or his or her manager email address, if the corresponding notifications are defined in the smart card usage policy.
