Assignment of a card to a user stipulates for that a card, already added to the system by operator, is assigned to the defined user in order he or she issued a certificate and key pair to write those to the assigned card on his/her own using the Self-Service application.

Warning

A smart card can be owned by one user only at any moment. However, a user can have several different cards in the System. Whether a user can assign a card to himself or herself, is defined by administrator in the policy’s Workflow menu of the Configuration section.

Maximum number of cards per user is also defined by administrator in the Issuance menu of the created smart card usage policy. Maximum number of cards is 1 by default.

To assign a card to a user, proceed as follows:

  1. Switch to user card and click Assign card.
  2. If the card is available, connect it to a computer.
    • If administrator PIN does not correspond to the value defined by the manufacturer (or the value defined in Card type), then specify the administrator PIN in Advanced section
    and click

43. If the card is not available at the moment of assignment, but its serial number and type is known - enter these and click Assign button.

54. Assigned smart card has Assigned status in the user card.

Smart card assignment cancellation. The card that is assigned to a user, but not issued yet, can be unassigned, if necessary. To cancel the smart card assignment, switch to the user card, select the assigned card and click Unassign. Confirm the action by clicking Unassign button.
