Agents carry out device and content management via tasks. If a task does not require user participation, then it can be executed by any Agent. Otherwise it can be performed only by assigned agent - for example, when answer to security questions is required to unlock the device.

Warning

The operations that require user participation are performed within user session in the operating system only. If no device assignment to Agent is set and tracking of device association to user session is not activated, then the tasks that require user actions shall be performed by any Agent in any user session.

Task execution is carried out as follows:

  1. When a device is connected to a workstation, the Agent requests tasks assigned to the device from Indeed CM server.
  2. If the device has already been connected, the Agent would regularly request tasks from the server at predefined intervals. Default interval is every 30 seconds.

Tasks performed by Indeed CM Agent are:


Agent tasks are defined in Cards section or in User card. Tasks (operations) with device can be performed using Agent or without it, using Agent only or without Agent usage only.

  • Tasks executed using Agent have corresponding option and notification upon its activation.

  • The tasks that can be performed by Indeed CM Agent only also have the corresponding notification.

The task is added to Assigned tasks section of a device and is displayed there until executed or cancelled.

A task has the following properties:

  • Type
  • Comment
  • Date of creation
  • Status

Task status:

 – Execution pending (task waits for workstation with Agent to be on, connection of a device to workstation or previous task to finish).



If a task is pending or is being performed for too long, then it can be cancelled. To do so, clickand confirm the action click clicked Cancel task.
