If the limit of PIN input is exceeded, the smart card is locked. Maximum number of PIN input attempts is defined by the administrator in the smart card usage policy, section Card initialization.

There are two modes of user smart card unlock:

Online unlocking
Offline unlocking:
- Offline unlocking in the Windows login window

Offline unlocking in Windows session
