If the limit of PIN input is exceeded, the smart card is locked. Maximum number of PIN input attempts is defined by the administrator in the smart card usage policy, section Card initialization.

There are two modes of user smart card card (Smart card, USB token) unlock:

1. Online unlocking
2. Offline unlocking:

   • Offline unlocking in on Windows login screen

     Note
     Unlocking a card (Smart card, USB token) on the Windows login screen is not supported when connected remotely via Remote Desktop.
